The Toasters auf dem Mühleplatz, Thun Mittwoch, 21. Juli 2010 Seit 1981 sind The Toasters aktiv. Das kann der Grossteil ihrer Anhängerschaft nicht behaupten. Obwohl die New Yorker in der Szene längst als alte Säcke durchgehen, schaffen sie es, pubertierenden Grünschnäbeln in Karo-Klamotten fetten Ska um die Ohren zu brätschen. Praktisch jedes Jahr rösten The Toasters eine neue Platte voller knuspriger Offbeat-Tracks. Wann sie das allerdings machen, ist uns ein Rätsel, denn der Tourkalender der New Yorker ist so voll wie Lindsay Lohan bei ihrer letzten Spritzfahrt. Umso erstaunlicher ist der Qualitätssound, den der Sechser um den Exil-Engländer und Ska-Koryphäe Robert Hingley hinlegt. Glauben Sie nicht?
